Composition and Membership A Steering Committee comprising representatives of various Ministries and Departments, the Academia and international development partners was set up within the Prime Minister’s Office on 4 September 2009. The objectives of the Committee were as follows:
On 15 July 2011, the Steering Committee was converted into the Commission on Maurice Ile Durable which operates under the aegis of the Prime Minister’s Office in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and other stakeholders. The responsibility of the MID Commission is to ensure the finalization of the Action Plan on Maurice Ile Durable and its timely implementation. Mr. Mahhomed Osman is Executive Chairman of the Commission. The Committee operates in close collaboration with the MID Commission and reports to the Prime Minister’s Office. Its mandate is as follows:
